Many Moons, along with Queer Topographies are projects that stem from a
multi-year research and photographic project that documents various mundane,
yet pivotal components of both ephemeral and architectural transformations
implemented in queer nightlife spaces. Some of these theatric components
documented, include fog/smoke, lights, lasers, soft borders, dance floors, and
disco balls. Many Moons, is part of a 10+ year archive of disco balls that have been
photographed in queer nightlife spaces around the world. The disco balls are
printed, hand cut, and individually collaged onto a wooden board that has been
treated with deep black paint. Referencing both moons and celestial bodies, and
originally inspired by the Hubble Telescope’s Deep Field Photos.
